February 14 was Ash Wednesday, the first day of the season of Lent. Lent is a time to prepare one’s heart and mind for Easter, the most significant day of the year for Christians.
Lent preparation is about prayer and repentance, and this is often symbolized in the Bible with ashes.
Let us join those who have gone before us in humility and begin the journey to the cross as we listen to our Lord call out to us, “Follow Me.
“Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.” (Job 42:6)
